The Spinney Road sidewalks are now complete, and crews are beginning work on Middle Street the week of May 6th. As part of this project the City is also replacing the sidewalks on Middle Street from Aldrich Road to Willard Ave. The existing sidewalk will be replaced with a concrete surface.  

National Small Business Week is May 5th to 11th. The City of Portsmouth and its local partners will be hosting several events throughout this week to offer resources and networking opportunities to celebrate the contributions of its small businesses.

Pro Portsmouth's Children's Day is Sunday, May 5th. Park at Foundry Place Garage for a flat fee of $2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the Hanover Garage will have regular hourly rates.

To celebrate Bike Month, Mayor Jack Blalock will lead a bicycle ride beginning at City Hall at noon on Wednesday, May 8th. The public is encouraged to join him, City officials and staff for a bicycle tour of recent and planned bicycle and pedestrian improvements.
