Poisoning the Well: How Forever Chemicals Contaminated America, Wednesday June 4

Award-winning environmental journalist Sharon Udasin will present her new book, Poisoning the Well: How Forever Chemicals Contaminated America, which traces an ugly history of corporate greed, military impunity, and community devastation, based on original reporting in four highly polluted places. The book introduces readers to people who, while fighting for their own lives, take action to fix a broken regulatory system.

Memorial Day Holiday Hours 2025

  • City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 26, reopening on Tuesday, May 27, from 8 am to 6 pm
  • The Portsmouth Public Library will be closed on Saturday, May 24 through Monday, May 26
  • The Department of Public Works trash and recycling collection on Monday, May 26 will be combined with collection on Tuesday, May 27. There will be no yard waste collected on either day.
