City Announces Routine Inspection of Peirce Island Road Bridge November 25
Portsmouth, New Hampshire – The Department of Public Works announces that in conjunction with the ongoing Peirce Island Wastewater Treatment Facility upgrade a routine inspection of the Peirce Island Road Bridge will be conducted on Monday, November 25th. This work involves a visual inspection of components of the bridge including the superstructure, deck, railing system and above-water portions of the abutments and piers.

Islington Street Corridor Project: Saturday Work Nov 16 & 23
Due to unforeseen construction delays, the City has authorized work on the Islington Street Corridor Project this Saturday, November 16 and the following Saturday, November 23, as weather permits. The hours of construction (7 am to 6 pm) and one-way traffic pattern (between Bartlett Street and Aldrich Road in the westerly/outbound direction) will be the same as for regular weekday work.

The City of Portsmouth’s Department of Public Works Stormwater Division hosts an Informational Session in the Council Chambers of City Hall on Monday evening November 18th from 6:30 to 8:30.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide an overview of the history, purpose, accomplishments and future regulatory requirements about the City’s Stormwater program. Descriptions of requirements and creative solutions homeowners might implement -- such as raingardens -- are included.
