Community Touch-A-Truck, Friday July 28
Back by popular demand!
We are so excited to be joined by the Portsmouth Police, Fire, and Public Works Department as well as the USPS for this special Community Touch-A-Truck event to conclude our 2022 Summer Reading Program! Check out police vehicles, a fire truck, various public works vehicles and meet some of our community's helpful workers! This event will take place in the big parking lot between the library and the middle school. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times for safety.

Tour the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Thursday July 20
Have you ever gazed over the river and wondered about the historic Portsmouth Naval Shipyard? Do you have relatives who may have worked there, or served on a submarine stationed there for repairs? Have you ever been curious about the naval prison? Would you like to see the Russo-Japanese Peace Treaty signing room? This month we are taking a tour, and look forward to hosting this exciting event with the staff of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard!

Meek flower shop assistant Seymour (Rick Moranis) pines for co-worker Audrey (Ellen Greene). During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey's boyfriend, Orin (Steve Martin), to the plant after Orin's accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the increasingly bloodthirsty plant.

Join us in the field next to the library for a BYOT (Bring Your Own Tie Dye) Party!!! We provide the dyes, you bring your own item to tie dye. Once again, you bring your own PREWASHED item to dye, we provide the dyes. Prewashing helps the dyes stick to the fibers better. Shirts, shorts, pants, cloth hats, cloth masks, socks, towels ... all great items to bring.

Letter from Commander Harrison, HMS Scott
The HMS Scott, a unique British Naval survey vessel, arrived in Portsmouth at the State Pier on Friday, June 2 and stayed until Friday, June 8. While here, sailors participated in the Portsmouth NH 400 Grand Parade, a friendly football (soccer) match with the crew of the USS Cheyenne, and many other activities!
