Enjoy the selected play of the month in the way ‘twas presented: to the masses! Pick up a video recording of the play to view at your leisure, and then join us on the last Tuesday of the month at 4 PM to discuss your experience with The Bard’s work.

A group of young misfits called The Goonies discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate's long-lost treasure.

Genealogy Workshop: Using Derivative History Sources to Find Primary Sources, Thursday July 18

Exhibit: Ikenobo, July 12-15
Fascinated by Japanese flower arranging? Come learn about its practice and history at a demonstration and exhibition of Ikenobo-Ikebana at the Portsmouth Public Library.
At 12:30 pm on Friday, July 12, a Japanese floral exhibition will be unveiled in the library’s lobby. Shortly after, at 1:00 pm, there will be a demonstration of Ikenobo-Ikebana in the Levenson Community Room. All are welcome. The exhibition runs over the weekend until noon on Monday, July 15. Registration is not required.

Arranging flowers and finding beauty in flowers are linked to a heart that values nature and cares for other people, this is the spirit of Ikenobo Ikebana. Ikenobo teachings called “Senno Kuden taught, “Not only beautiful flowers but also buds and withered flowers have life, and each has its own beauty. By arranging flowers with reverence, one refines oneself.”
