City Council Ends Free Parking; Continues Curbside Pickup Zones
The Portsmouth City Council has resumed normal Parking operations as of April 21, 2020.
On-street and public garage parking fees apply as of 4.21.20. Patrons with monthly parking contracts in the garages are receiving credit to their accounts for the entire free-parking period. Adjustments will be made in the May bills for any April payments made to date.
Sagamore Ave. Sewer Extension Project Survey
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sagamore Avenue Area Sewer Extension project work session with the City Council was postponed. In addition the original start date of construction (described in the Consent Decree) of June of 2020 has been pushed back. A new start date has yet to be finalized. The DPW prepared this survey to determine how many properties would connect to the sewer at the time of construction and to better understand existing conditions. This information will be helpful as the City Council considers project costs and cost apportionment.

Islington Street Corridor Construction Resumes April 6
Construction on the Islington Street Corridor Reconstruction Project will resume the week of Monday, April 6, 2020. This phase involves the section of Islington Street between Bartlett Street and Spinney Road with work focusing on different zones on a day-to-day basis. This phase is expected to be completed by this fall. Several projects are able to proceed with the benefits of reduced impact to residents due to the reduced traffic resulting from the Stay-At-Home closure of downtown businesses.
