Exhibit: "Community Strength" Mural, July 1-30

Noted local artist, educator, and Director of Admissions for Recruitment and Access at UNH, Richard Haynes, worked with LGBTQIA+ youth, adults, and allies to collaboratively design a mural that was painted by the public at the Portsmouth Pride event at Strawbery Banke.

City Announces Carl Weber as Deputy City Manager

With the planned transition of Deputy City Manager and Regulatory Counsel Suzanne Woodland at the end of the current fiscal year, City Manager Karen S. Conard is pleased to announce the appointment of Carl Weber as the City’s next Deputy City Manager, effective June 30, 2025.

City Plans Independence Day Fireworks for July 3, 2025

The City of Portsmouth presents the annual fireworks display on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at South Mill Pond with a rain date of Saturday, July 5. This celebration is an alcohol-free, family-friendly event. The City has not allocated funds for fireworks in next year’s budget. Unless a private donor steps forward to sponsor the event, this year’s celebration will mark the final Independence Day fireworks display.

Motor Vehicle Accident Investigation

June 27, 2025

On June 26th, 2025, at 3:57pm, the Portsmouth Police Patrol Division responded to the area of 2021 Lafayette Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Upon arrival, it was discovered a white work van heading southbound on Lafayette Road veered across northbound traffic, subsequently driving through a residential fence before colliding with multiple vehicles parked in a private driveway.

Sage Clarke is back this summer to offer free weekly yoga classes on Tuesday evenings! Join us on Tuesdays from June 17 to September 16 from 6:30-7:30 PM for an hour of outdoor, all-levels yoga in the library garden behind the library.
