Pleasant Street Reconstruction Schedule Announced
The project is scheduled to start May 14, 2018. The project consists of replacing the existing water main and drainage system. Upon completion of underground utility work, the roadway will be reconstructed and repaved, granite curbing reset, and brick sidewalks replaced. Currently, the contract work is limited to Pleasant Street and Junkins Avenue and excludes the side streets in the overall project design
Household Hazardous Waste Day
Bring the household hazardous waste products a to the Department of Public Works facility at 680 Peverly Hill Road for safe disposal between 8 a.m. and noon. Residents must show proof of residency. Bring your unwanted household chemicals to Portsmouth's Dept of Public Works for safe disposal
City and Zagster Celebrate Bike Month
To celebrate Bike Month, City staff and Mayor Blalock led a bicycle tour around the Downtown with community members. The route showcased the locations of the City’s Zagster bike share stations, and ended at Portwalk Place to celebrate their sponsorship of a new bike station at that location. City Now Offers Two Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
The City of Portsmouth presently offers two ChargePoint EV Charging Stations, one station at the Hanover Parking Garage, just inside the Fleet Street entrance, and one station at the City Hall Lower Lot, located at the corner of Junkins Avenue and South Street. Each station includes two operational plugs for use.
