2025 Dog Licenses are now available. You may visit the City Clerk's Office during regular office hours, mail in a check or money order, or pay on-line.

As required by State law, all dogs residing in the City of Portsmouth must be licensed. You will receive a license certificate and a small, numbered tag to be placed on the dog collar for assistance in the case your dog is lost.

In the State of New Hampshire, dog licenses extend from April to April.

The following is a list of existing and upcoming board, committee, and commission vacancies.  Upcoming vacancies are those in which a member is currently serving, but whose term has expired or is expiring within the next three months and that member may or may not be interested or eligible for reappointment.  Board, committee and commission members are typically permitted to hold over pending reappointment or successor appointment.
