Emergency Management Organization
The City of Portsmouth's Emergency Management Organization (EMO) establishes policy, plans and procedures to ensure the safety of the citizens of Portsmouth in the event of a large-scale emergency. This includes adequate inventories of emergency management supplies, and training City staff in their roles in the City's Emergency Management Team. The mission of the EMO has expanded recently as we prepare for potential pandemics and other large scale public health emergencies, working cooperatively with the Health, Police, Public Works, and School departments.
