Project Overview
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has started day and night work on I-95 northbound and southbound between Mile Marker (MM) 8.0 and MM 13.3. This work is expected to continue through September 2026.
Weather permitting, work will consist of the installation of median barrier and guardrail on I-95 beginning just north of MM 8.0 in North Hampton proceeding north through Greenland and ending just north on MM 13.2 in Portsmouth. Single lane closures and shoulder closures will be implemented on the northbound and southbound barrels of I-95 to facilitate this work.
Uniformed officers will assist with traffic control and be present throughout the project’s completion. Road users are reminded to adhere to the Move Over Law (Sherrill’s Law) when approaching the work area and drive carefully through the work zone.

Sargent Corporation of Freemont, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $4.6 million project, which is scheduled for completion of September 2026.
