City Parking & Traffic Safety Committee Holds a Public Meeting on NHDOT Sound Barrier Project, Woodbury Avenue Traffic Calming, and Middle- Miller-Summer Streets Intersection
November 27, 2023The City’s Parking & Traffic Safety (PTS) Committee is holding a public information meeting on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 6 pm in Council Chambers at City Hall. Just prior to the meeting, at 5:30 pm in Council Chambers, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) is offering an informal opportunity for the public to review the I-95 Sound Barrier Project plans. The sound barrier project is expected to start in Spring 2024 and is part of the NHDOT Ten Year Plan.

City Announces Details for Dec 2 Holiday Tree-Lighting, Illuminated Holiday Parade & Vintage Christmas Shuttle
November 20, 2023The City’s 2023 Holiday Tree-Lighting and Illuminated Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 (this is a rain, snow, or shine event) starting at 5 pm. Portsmouth’s Tree Lighting ceremony takes place on the first Saturday in December each year from 5 to 5:30 pm, followed by the annual Illuminated Holiday Parade. The City’s Department of Public Works will begin installing the tree in Market Square on Monday, November 20 and continue decorating on the following day.
