Eclipse Watch Party, Monday April 8
March 26, 2024People of all ages are welcome to join us at the library to watch the solar eclipse! We will kick things off at 1 PM with eclipse activities, food, and trivia. At 3:30 PM the eclipse should be in totality, starting at 3 PM we will gather outside on the library's lawn to watch the eclipse.

Eclipse Glasses Available Now While Supplies Last
March 25, 2024Beginning Monday March 25, the library will have eclipse glasses to distribute to library cardholders and those who can prove Portsmouth residency.
Supplies are limited and this giveaway of one pair of glasses per household will last until we are out of glasses.
City Planning Alternatives When Hanover Garage Project Limits Elevator Access
March 22, 2024The City of Portsmouth NH is currently in the second year of a three-year project for the major renovation of the High-Hanover Parking Facility. The project is designed to enhance the overall safety and longevity of the structure, improve traffic flow, and replace the traffic control equipment that governs garage entry and exit.
City Council Approves Cultural Plan
March 20, 2024Early in 2023 the Portsmouth Arts and Nonprofits Committee assembled a subcommittee tasked with creating a new Cultural Plan for the City. The last plan was adopted in 2002 and was included in the 2005 Master Plan. The goal was to complete a new plan as a foundational pillar for the 2035 Citywide Master Plan to help ensure that City leaders have a strategic roadmap to guide support and funding policies in the coming decade and serve as a blueprint for preservation and expansion of arts and cultural venues, activities, and initiatives for the foreseeable future.
