Portsmouth Celebrates International Walk to School Day
October 10, 2018Wednesday, October 10th is International Walk to School Day. To celebrate, three Portsmouth Schools are participating this year with their own Walk to School Day events, including:
Paving operations, including night work, to occur on Islington Street the week of October 8th
October 9, 2018Beginning Tuesday, October 9th, paving operations will continue throughout the week on Islington Street spanning Dover Street to Maplewood Avenue.

Pease Tradeport Water System Update presented to City Council
October 2, 2018On October 1, 2018, Deputy Public Works Director Brian Goetz shared an update on the Pease Tradeport Water System and upgraded PFAS treatment.
Public Meeting on October 2nd to review new connector road between Lang Road and Longmeadow Road
October 2, 2018The intersection of US Route 1 (Lafayette Road) and Lang Road has been a safety concern for the City of Portsmouth, the Town of Rye and the State of New Hampshire for some time. Given that Lang Road is a City road and US Route 1 is a State road, both the City and NHDOT worked together on a Road Safety Audit of the intersection to analyze hazards and potential improvements. The Audit identified a preferred option of a connector roadway between Longmeadow Road and Lang Road in order to alleviate the Lang Road intersection safety issues.
Green Street gas and sewer work beginning Monday, October 1st
October 1, 2018On Monday, October 1st, Unitil will be on Green Street replacing gas services for buildings along this street throughout the week. During this work, vehicles must use Vaughan Street to enter Green Street as the Russell Street entrance will be closed.
