Come join us Monday, February 4 at 6:30 in the Portsmouth High School Library for a discussion about budgetary priorities in the Portsmouth School District. We'll share how the School Board goals inform our budgeting vision, as well as how district initiatives factor in to the process. Due to the extended weather forecast, the Portsmouth Public Library and all City recreation facilities will be closed on Sunday, January 20th.

On Thursday, January 17th, City staff attended the New England Water Works Association’s (NEWWA) monthly meeting to receive its 2018 Public Communications Award. NEWWA recognized the City for its excellence in communications through comprehensive public outreach materials and programs. Please click here for information on the recognition.

The Portsmouth community can now access the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 on the Finance Department’s website. The City’s CAFR and PAFR are prepared following the end of each fiscal year under the guidance of Finance Director Judie Belanger.

Next week the City of Portsmouth will be issuing a request for qualifications seeking the operation of a short-distance public transportation service (also referred to as microtransit). 

As part of a statewide effort to understand the needs of older adults, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services’ (DHHS), Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services (BEAS) and the State Plan on Aging (SPOA) Planning Committee are seeking public input that will guide and inform the next four-year State Plan on Aging.
