September 30, 2019Chapel Street between Daniel and Bow Streets will be closed from 7 am to 12 noon on Tuesday, October 1 to perform work on the road surface in front of St. John's Church. Traffic will be rerouted around the area and will be blocked from entering Bow from Market Street. The right turn from Penhallow to Bow will also be blocked.

Gas Leak at Intersection of Islington St. and Bartlett St.

At 12:10 P.M. today, Portsmouth Police and Fire Department’s responded to the intersection of Islington Street at Bartlett Street for a gas leak. The Fire Department and gas company are working on containing the leak but we are suggesting avoiding the area. The gas leak was caused by a construction accident and is isolated to one area.
