FREE PRESCOTT PARK GARDEN TOURS ON FRIDAYS IN AUGUST
August 12, 2019The garden tours are offered at 11 am and 2 pm on August 16 and 23. The one-hour tour starts at the Liberty Pole on Marcy Street and then explores the extensive garden beds of the South Lawn and the formal garden planted around the anchor at the end of Prescott Park closest to the river.
WELFARE DEPARTMENT BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE!
August 12, 2019Since 2006, the Welfare Department has been conducting a back to school drive to assure that every child in the City of Portsmouth has the tools they need to begin a successful school year. The first day of school is just a few short weeks away. We are always in need of sturdy backpacks for older kids. Currently, we are low on markers, pencil sharpeners, and dividers for three ring binders. Thank you for your generosity.

August 2, 2019Portsmouth, New Hampshire – Now that the gardens of Prescott Park are at their summer peak, following weeks of planting, weeding and cultivation, the City of Portsmouth Parks & Greenery Department is inviting the public to join members of the gardening team for free weekly tours of the formal gardens.

Piscataqua River Dye Study at Pease Wastewater Outfall Scheduled for July 29, 2019
July 26, 2019Portsmouth, NH - The City of Portsmouth, New Hampshire will begin conducting a dye tracing study on Monday, July 29, 2019. The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) will assist in the collection of data associated with the dye study. The study will continue into Tuesday, July 30, 2019.

July 26, 2019The Department of Public Works with Greenman Pedersen, and Sargent Corporation is hosting a public meeting at the Department of Public Works on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 6 p.m. to discuss construction of the next phase of the Maplewood Avenue and Adjacent Areas Project. This phase includes Central Avenue, Cutts Street, Beechwood Street, Ashland Street, and Leslie Drive. The project includes, utility work, drainage improvements, and roadway reconstruction and paving.
