October 5, 2021Over a year ago, the City of Portsmouth closed the Indoor Pool in light of precautions against the spread of COVID-19. During that time, the City also took the opportunity of the closure to explore necessary repairs and maintenance. With that work completed, the Recreation Department plans to reopen the Indoor Pool in the first week of November.

City hosts Household Hazardous Waste Day October 30
October 4, 2021The Portsmouth Department of Public Works will hold its biannual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Public Works facility at 680 Peverly Hill Road. Residents of Portsmouth, Greenland and Newington are encouraged to bring household chemicals for safe disposal between 8 am and 12 noon. Proof of residency is required.
DPW Conducts Routine Hydrant and Water Main Flushing on Monday, October 14, 2021
September 30, 2021The City of Portsmouth Department of Public Works Water Division begins its annual routine flushing of fire hydrants and water mains on Monday, October 4, 2021. The flushing will take place at various locations, Monday through Thursday, between 7 am and 11 pm, for the next six weeks.
