January 21, 2025The Portsmouth Community Development Department is now accepting applications for the City FY 2026 Public Service Agency Grant program. The funding for this program is provided by a Community Development Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is contingent on the City receiving its FY 2026 (HUD FY 2025) grant award from HUD.

DPW Announces Cross-Country Sewer Main Easement Tree Removals
January 21, 2025The City of Portsmouth Department of Public Works will start work on or about January 23, 2025, removing trees along the City’s sewer line right-of-way that parallels and serves the Route 1 corridor. This work is part of periodic maintenance of the line. The work extends cross-country from Hoover Drive, across Springbrook Circle to White Cedar Boulevard along the City’s 30 foot wide sewer easement and is shown circled in red in the graphic.
City Distributes $350,000 in ARPA Assistance to Qualified Nonprofit Human Service Agencies
January 17, 2025At the December 16, 2024 City Council meeting, City Manager Karen Conard announced that $350,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) assistance would be distributed to local nonprofit human service agencies, concluding a monthslong process. Local agencies were invited to submit applications for the funds by November 27, 2024.
