City Parking Clerk Services Move to Foundry Place Garage Starting June 1
May 27, 2020As the City of Portsmouth implements physical-distancing protocols at City Hall when it reopens to the public on June 1, the Parking Division is pleased to announce that to avoid congestion at City Hall, the Parking Clerk Services will move to the Foundry Place Garage.

May 23, 2020In reference to the ongoing investigation into a fire at the Portsmouth Middle School in the early morning hours of Saturday May 23, 2020, the Portsmouth Police Department is asking residents to notify the Police if they discover that they are missing a propane tank typically associated with a gas grill. We would also ask residents of the south side of the City to check any personal video surveillance systems for any suspicious activity between the hours of 12:30am and 3:30am.

Portsmouth Water Division Releases Annual Drinking Water Quality Reports
May 22, 2020Each year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires community water systems to deliver a Consumer Confidence Report – also known as an Annual Drinking Water Quality Report – to their customers. These reports, which are mailed out to water customers by July 1st, provide information about their drinking water quality from the previous year of sampling including a summary of detected contaminants, compliance, and educational information.

May 20, 2020At the May 18 City Council meeting, Assistant Mayor Splaine and Councilor Deaglan McEachern proposed the formation of Portsmouth Citizen Response Task Force. The Councilors approved the motion unanimously.
City Hall Reopens June 1 with New Procedures in Place
May 20, 2020City Manager Karen Conard has announced that City Hall will reopen to the public on Monday, June 1.
WATER DEPARTMENT BEGINS TWICE-ANNUAL HYDRANT AND WATER MAIN FLUSHING
May 20, 2020The Water Division has begun the twice-annual, routine flushing of the City’s fire hydrants and 190 miles of water mains to remove sediment buildup. The work is ongoing for the next six to eight weeks, Monday through Thursday, between 7 and 11 pm.
