Middle Street Bike Lane Installation Underway
September 4, 2018The Middle Street and Lafayette Road corridor bike lane project has been awarded to Hi-Way Safety Systems, and is required to be completed by the end of September 2018. The project, which also received funding from a NHDOT Safe Routes to School Grant, will extend from the High School to the downtown and is intended to create a safer and more convenient path for those traveling by bike or foot to the schools, Library and more.
Promo code offers $10 annual bike share memberships to Portsmouth residents
August 31, 2018Portsmouth residents interested in taking advantage of the City’s Zagster bike share program can now use the promotional code “ilivehere” to obtain a $10 annual membership, normally a price of $25.

City and Zagster Celebrate Bike Month
May 9, 2018To celebrate Bike Month, City staff and Mayor Blalock led a bicycle tour around the Downtown with community members. The route showcased the locations of the City’s Zagster bike share stations, and ended at Portwalk Place to celebrate their sponsorship of a new bike station at that location.

April 24, 2018A Stage 3 public input meeting for the McIntyre Project will be held on Tuesday, April 24th at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. This session is intended to provide an opportunity for continued discussion of the public realm, design, and aspects of the public private partnership.
Chestnut Street Project to Resume April 9th
April 9, 2018Construction activity at the Chestnut Street block, which includes The Music Hall, will resume on Monday, April 9th. Currently, preparation work such as roof drain downspout connections, subsurface brick work on the sewer manholes and some brick work restoration is taking place.
Heavier construction for this project will include the installation of the new streetscape components including seat walls, site lighting, installation of granite banding at crosswalks, and decorative pavement.
Zagster Bike Share Event on Tuesday, March 20th at Street’za
