Planning Board Recommends Gateway Mixed Use District Amendments to Council
September 29, 2017On September 21, 2017, the Planning Board voted to recommend to the City Council for adoption zoning amendments to allow for a mix of residential and nonresidential development in some of the City’s primary corridor areas and to increase the diversity of housing types.
The proposed Gateway Mixed Use District amendments include two new zoning districts: Gateway Corridor Mixed Use (G1) and Gateway Corridor Mixed Use Center (G2) in four primary areas:

Portsmouth PD assists the CAC in Beards for Bucks Fundraiser Event!
September 28, 2017Portsmouth, N.H. – It's a campaign called “Beards for Bucks.’' Starting October 1st, law enforcement officers across Rockingham County will go razor-less to raise awareness and funds for the Child Advocacy Center of Rockingham County (CACRC), a local non-profit organization that collaborates with law enforcement to provide safe, child-friendly spaces for investigative services of child abuse.

Portsmouth Water Division Releases September 2017 Water Supply Status Report
September 14, 2017Every month, the Portsmouth Water Division issues a Water Supply Status Report to customers that provides a detailed assessment of the current water supply conditions. The September report details that while precipitation is still slightly low based on seasonal averages, the groundwater levels, reservoir levels and river flow rates are within typical ranges for this time of year. Therefore, no water use restrictions are being enforced at this time.
Work to start on Walker Bungalow Road and Sudbury Street on Monday, September 18th
September 14, 2017On Monday, September 18th, work will begin on both Walker Bungalow Road and Sudbury Street.
On Walker Bungalow Road, the City’s contractor, John H. Lyman and Sons, will be constructing a water main replacement in the area just north of Shaw Road where utility crews stopped work last fall. The project proposes to install about 280’ of new water pipe in the area – spanning from 137 to 189 Walker Bungalow – in order to eliminate this final section of old water main.
