Department of Public Works Moves Forward on Lang-Longmeadow Road Connector With Service Credit Union Easements
April 1, 2021Based on a road safety audit in 2016 by NHDOT and the City of Portsmouth, the Department of Public Works is moving forward, in partnership with the State of New Hampshire, on a plan to reroute traffic along Lang Road with the addition of a connector road to Longmeadow Road, behind Service Credit Union.
City Council Accepts $10,000 Grant from National League of Cities for Leadership in Community Resilience Program
March 30, 2021The National League of Cities (NLC) has selected the City of Portsmouth and its collaboration with the NH Coastal Adaptation Workshop (NHCAW) as one of eight communities to participate in the national 2021 Leadership in Community Resilience (LCR) program. NLC has awarded a $10,000 grant to the City to support engagement with NHCAW and residents and for new research, training and education materials.
Recreation Department Hosts Easter Bunny Drive-Thru Sat. Apr 3
March 26, 2021The Portsmouth Recreation Department has received word from the Easter Bunny that he will make a personal appearance at the Connie Bean Center (155 Parrott Avenue) for an Easter drive-through event on Saturday, April 3, 2021, rain or shine.
The free event is designed for Portsmouth families with children aged from pre-K through the fourth grade.
City Council Plans Site Walk of Peverly Hill Road Proposed "Complete Streets" Project on Apr 3
March 24, 2021The City Council has scheduled a site walk of the Peverly Hill Road proposed Complete Streets improvement project on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 10 am. The purpose of the meeting is a follow-up to the public information meeting held via Zoom on February 17, 2021. The on-site meeting gives property owners an additional opportunity to see and discuss the project limits and easements that will be necessary along the roadway corridor.
City of Portsmouth DPW Set to Start Seasonal Islington Street Corridor Project Work
March 18, 2021The City of Portsmouth Department of Public Works is preparing to commence seasonal construction on the Islington Street Corridor Project, Phase 1B. This work will continue sewer-water line separation between Albany Street and Dover Street. Work is expected to take most of the construction season and be completed in October.
