City of Portsmouth Announces Event Parking & Free Shuttle for Sail Portsmouth

Sail Portsmouth welcomes a parade of tall ships and flotilla of other vessels to Portsmouth on Thursday, July 27 starting at 6:15 pm. Two of the tall ships will then be open for ticketed public tours on Friday, July 28 through Monday July 31, between 10 am and 5 pm, at the Portsmouth Commercial Fish Pier, at 1 Peirce Island Road, across from Prescott Park.

Portsmouth, New Hampshire – The City of Portsmouth Department of Public Works Water Division is mailing copies of the Annual Water Quality Report this week for customers served by the Portsmouth (including portions of New Castle) and Pease (serving the Pease Tradeport and a portion of Newington) Water Systems.

Letter from Commander Harrison, HMS Scott

The HMS Scott, a unique British Naval survey vessel, arrived in Portsmouth at the State Pier on Friday, June 2 and stayed until Friday, June 8. While here, sailors participated in the Portsmouth NH 400 Grand Parade, a friendly football (soccer) match with the crew of the USS Cheyenne, and many other activities!

Memorial Day Observances Planned in Portsmouth

VFW Post #168 Commander and City Councilor Josh Denton has provided details on the plans for the City’s Memorial Day observances.

On Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11 am the American Legion/VFW conducts the annual Burial at Sea Ceremony by the anchor sculpture in Prescott Park. The ceremony includes a performance of patriotic music by the Portsmouth Middle School Ensemble and a wreath-laying on the Piscataqua River.
