Portsmouth Hosts NHSaves “Button Up” Workshop

March 9, 2026

The Portsmouth Public Library, Portsmouth Energy Advisory Committee, and Seacoast Climate Action Now will host a free NHSaves “Button Up” home energy workshop on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 6 pm at the Portsmouth Public Library, 175 Parrott Avenue. Residents may attend in person or via Zoom; pre-registration is required.

The NHSaves Button Up Workshop is a 90-minute presentation led by a certified energy auditor. It introduces basic building science principles and practical steps that homeowners can take to improve energy efficiency. These include air sealing, insulation, and other weatherization measures. In addition, the program provides an overview of current energy efficiency programs offered by NH utilities for existing homes and new construction, including energy audits, weatherization measures, and rebates on new electric and gas technologies and energy-efficient products.

"We are bringing this workshop to Portsmouth because it offers valuable and practical information about how to save energy and reduce costs while making our homes more comfortable,” said Tracey Cameron, of the Portsmouth Energy Advisory Committee. “The information about available funding can also help make these improvements possible for more people. With the high cost of energy, efficiency is now more important than ever. We hope many people will take the time to attend this informative workshop.”

The workshop series is coordinated statewide by the Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative (PAREI).
