Fire Department Receives Gift of Meals from Roundabout Diner for Firefighters Working Christmas Day

December 22, 2025

Portsmouth Fire Chief William McQuillen has announced that the Roundabout Diner at 580 US Highway 1 (Portsmouth Circle) is donating meals to Portsmouth firefighters who are working shifts on Christmas Day.

“Roundabout Diner, a perennial 'Best of' NH Magazine, Taste and TripAdvisor award winner, is delighted to give back to our community and the firefighters who have a thankless job, work tirelessly even on holidays to keep us safe,” said Dan Posternak, Roundabout Diner owner. “We thought sharing what we call 'The Comfort Zone' dining experience with a special Christmas menu, would be the perfect gift our firefighters would enjoy.”

“We are grateful to the Roundabout Diner for their generosity in providing meals to our crews working on Christmas Day,” said Fire Chief William McQuillen. “Their support means a great deal to the people who serve our City. It reminds us that the holiday season is about caring for one another. While many families gather to celebrate the holiday, Portsmouth’s firefighters remain on duty to keep the community safe, and this act of kindness ensures they can enjoy a warm, festive meal during their shifts.”

The Portsmouth Fire Department serves the needs of residents and visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year and depends on community partnerships such as this one to build the strong bonds between local businesses and our Fire Department.
