City Public Art Review Committee Hosts Dedication of “Spiraling Serenity” Sculpture on November 6, 2025

October 24, 2025

The City’s Public Art Review Committee (PARC) is hosting the dedication of its newest public art project on Thursday November 6, 2025 at 3:30 pm. The sculpture, Vito DiBari’s Spiraling Serenity, is located on Peirce Island (near the first parking lot over the bridge). The dedication ceremonies are free and open to the public.

Designer Vito DiBari and City officials will deliver brief remarks at the sculpture dedication, which begins onsite at 3:30 pm. While limited parking is available at Peirce Island, attendees are encouraged to walk or bike to the site.

At 5 pm, following the dedication, PARC will host a talk by DiBari, “Will Beauty Save the World?” at the Strawbery Banke Museum Visitor Center (14 Hancock Street. Portsmouth).

Vito DiBari is an internationally recognized keynote speaker who addresses AI and other emerging technologies, the relationship between technology and the arts, and innovative design. He has participated in public art projects all over the world and commented, “I look forward to engaging the audience and providing an aspirational and inspirational lecture, ultimately leaving audience members thoughtfully hopeful.”

Spiraling Serenity celebrates the Golden Ratio which is found in nature and represents harmony, balance, and peaceful serenity. In his artist’s statement, Vito DiBari wrote, “Shaped by nature’s code: the Golden Ratio. A leaf unfurls into a spiral, echoing the quiet mathematics that shapes seashells, galaxies, and the turning of a fern. Its surface, traced with patterns found in the veins of leaves and the skin of the earth, invites touch and wonder. Here, on Peirce Island, the form celebrates nature’s harmony and the community it shelters, a place to gather, reflect, and feel part of something timeless.”
