105 Marcy Street - The Players' Ring

Friends of the South End (FOSE) is hosting the dedication of the Fairy House Sculpture on Wednesday, July 8th at 6:30 pm in the garden between the Players’ Ring and the Prescott Park Formal Gardens at 105 Marcy Street. The dedication ceremony is free and open to the public.

The Fairy House Sculpture was commissioned by FOSE to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Fairy House Tour in 2024. FOSE proposed to donate the sculpture to the City through the Public Art Review Committee (PARC), PARC recommended to the City Council, and it was accepted by City Council vote on June 23, 2025.

The Fairy was sculpted on-site by New Hampshire artist Alex Bieniecki. A lifelong artist, Bieniecki began to focus on woodcarving in 2015. An avid camper, he explains that he had previously thought of the chainsaw as a practical tool for clearing trails or cutting firewood until it became a lucrative hobby. This project was sponsored by FOSE and the Puddle Dock Restaurant.
