Our mission is to preserve the cultural identity of Portsmouth and to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and accessible arts and culture
community. We are doing this by enacting the Portsmouth 2023 Cultural plan, our guiding pillars are as follows:

  • Resources - Find arts & culture opportunities aligned with broader community goals
  • DEIA - Create an arts & culture environment that welcomes & supports all people
  • Communication - Ensure that local artists & arts orgs are connected to City & community leaders
  • Education - Encourage & increase involvement in arts education for community
  • Preservation -Support funding & education for historic preservation initiatives
