Public Art Review Committee responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • PARC responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  • Commissioning public art projects;
  • Providing guidance to those finding, developing and installing works of public art;
  • Identifying locations for public art installations;
  • Promoting engagement with public art sites throughout the City; and
  • Overseeing the maintenance of City-owned public art.

As created, PARC consists of six to ten community volunteers, one member of City staff, and one City Councilor.

More information about the Committee members

Committee members have demonstrated experience in the fine arts, architecture, art criticism, engineering, or structural analysis, art history, graphic arts, interior design, landscape architecture, town planning, or other art and design-related fields, or have demonstrated a strong interest in the visual arts and civic improvement. PARC members are appointed by the Mayor, with approval from the Council, to staggered terms varying from two to three years. The PARC will be chaired by a member of the local arts community for a term of one year, with eligibility for reelection for two additional terms.
