City Planning Department Publishes Open Space Plan
March 4, 2020Portsmouth, New Hampshire – The City of Portsmouth Planning Department has released the Open Space Plan titled “Building A Resilient Future: An Open Space Plan for the City of Portsmouth.” The purpose of the Plan is to provide a blueprint to improve open space land for public access, use and stewardship, and to improve connectivity between open space assets city-wide.
March 12 2020 Public Information Meeting on Middle Street / Lafayette Road Bicycle Lanes
February 19, 2020The City of Portsmouth Planning and Public Works Departments will host a public information meeting to discuss the bicycle lanes created in Fall 2018 along Middle Street and Lafayette Road (Route 1). The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 12th at 7pm in Council Chambers in City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for members of the public to share comments, concerns, and suggestions for improvement to the pilot project.

Both the Conservation Commission and the Planning Board have held work sessions on these amendments and, after a public hearing on September 19, 2019, the Planning Board recommended adoption of these proposed amendments to the City Council.

Portsmouth Seeking Public Input on Capital Improvement Plan FY2021-2026
September 9, 2019The Portsmouth Planning Department and Planning Board are welcoming public input on the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for Fiscal Year 2021 to 2026 (July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2026). Residents are asked to submit projects for consideration in the next CIP by October 15th. The CIP sets forth a 6-year schedule and financing strategy to accomplish necessary public improvements and meet infrastructure needs.
