General Information
RESIDENT STATUS
Residency is defined to mean a person's place of abode or domicile. That place designated by a person as his principle place of physical presence for the indefinite future to the exclusion of all others.
HOW TO WATCH A GOOD PROGRAM DIE
Nothing kills a recreation program faster than those who wait until the last minute to register. There is a point where a program must be cancelled if there is insufficient registration. All programs require a level of scheduling, staffing and purchasing of equipment. So please register early.
REFUNDS
If Portsmouth Recreation is forced to cancel a program, a full refund will be issued by check by the City of Portsmouth.
Refund requests must be submitted in writing (email is fine) and will be granted up until two weeks before the start of the program. Refunds are issued in the form of a check and usually take two to three weeks to process. If a request is made within two weeks prior to the start of the program, refunds will be given for medical reasons or if the Recreation Department is able to fill the spot with another participant. A pro-rated refund may be given if the participant attended any sessions.
