Fall Soccer
Registration for the girls' teams is still open. Ends August 13.
The teams for boys has filled.
Portsmouth Recreational Youth Soccer is an instructional league for boys and girls from Pre-K to 4th grade. League is designed for kiddos to learn the sport of soccer and good sportsmanship, have fun playing and make friends.
Volunteer coaches needed.
- Pre-K (Ages 3-4): Saturdays only 9:00-9:45am - FULL
- Grades K-1: Tuesday Practice 4:00-5:00pm; Games on Saturday between 10:00am-12:00pm
- Grades 2-4: Thursday Practice 4:00-5:00pm; Games on Saturday between 12:00-2:00pm
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE EXACT PRACTICE AND GAME TIMES WILL BE DEPENDENT ON ENROLLMENT AND TEAM COUNTS. Schedule subject to change based on registration numbers.

Snapology

Chess Kidz: Grades K-5
Coach Jacob returns for another season of awesome chess play.

The Players Ring Drama Club: Grades K-5
Perfect for any child wanting to develop their imagination, confidence, and teamwork. Culminates in a performance on the last day for friends and family. 3:00-4:30pm. Early releases (September 30 & October 28) class is held 1:00-2:30pm.

Flag Football Skills and Drills
Safe, fast-paced version of traditional football but instead of tackling, players wear belts with flags. Players develop basic skills such as agility, hand-eye coordination and speed in a non-contact, fun team environment. Grades K-4.

USTA Tennis in the Parks - Learn to Play
Led by a USTA coaches, participants will have fun and get great exercise while developing the skills to serve, rally, and play tennis. The program is perfect for first-time and beginner players, as well as returning novice players.
Learn to Play:
Led by a USTA-approved coach, the Tennis in the Parks program will focus on developing the skills to serve, rally and play - so it’s perfect for beginners and first-time players. We focus on FUN and learning the basics through play. This program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets and the latest engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker. All players, in their first session, receive and keep a new age-appropriate racquet and ball!

Portsmouth Recreation Kids Yoga

American Red Cross Babysitter Training with Pediatric First Aid
Provide youth with the knowledge & skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Participants will learn leadership skills and basic childcare, tips to develop a babysitting business, how to keep themselves and others safe, and hints to help children behave. Ages 11-15.

LIFEGUARD TRAINING - American Red Cross (Ages 15+)
American Red Cross Lifeguard Blended Learning Training: Aged 15+
Course length: 19 hours, 30 minutes in-person and 7 hours 30 minutes online. Total - 27 hours
Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age: 15 years;
- Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest:
- Jump into the water and totally submerge, resurface and then swim 150 years using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed)
- Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs.
- Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
- Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
- Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed)
- Submerge to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
- Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out at or near the surface.
- Exit the water without using a ladder or steps
To successfully complete the Lifeguarding Blended Learning course, the participant must:
- Attend the entire course and participate in all class sessions
- Actively participate in all course activities, including assuming various roles during scenarios
- Demonstrate competency in all required skills
- Pass the final skills scenarios
- Complete all eLearning content, including the eLearning written exam (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers; and First Aid)
- Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80 percent
Training provides participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing & cardiac emergencies, and injuries & sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.

Tumble Time - Open Play
Toddler tumble time offers drop-in play for toddlers and their adult. Mats provided. No shoes or drink/snacks allowed in the playroom. Back playground is open dawn to dusk on weekends throughout the year. Free.
