Portsmouth Water Division Releases 2017 Annual Drinking Water Quality Reports
June 5, 2018Each year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires community water systems to deliver a Consumer Confidence Report – also known as an Annual Drinking Water Quality Report – to their customers. These reports, which are mailed out to water customers by July 1st, provide information about their drinking water quality from the previous year of sampling including a summary of detected contaminants, compliance, and educational information.
Andrew Jarvis Drive and Lafayette Road Intersection Improvement Project to be discussed Tuesday, June 5
June 5, 2018Public Works staff will be holding a preconstruction meeting next Tuesday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Works Facility on 680 Peverly Hill Road. The meeting will provide the public with the latest information on the improvement project for the intersection of Andrew Jarvis Drive and Lafayette Road. The project includes widening the intersection to provide a right-turn lane on Lafayette Road and two exiting lanes on Andrew Jarvis Drive. A fully actuated traffic signal will also be installed at the intersection.
Paving Operations in Tucker’s Cove, Regina and Grafton Drives Begin
May 21, 2018Paving operations began on Monday, May 21st within Tucker’s Cove (Odiorne Point and Gosport Roads), Regina Drive, and Grafton Drive. This week’s work includes milling and other preparation work ahead of the actual paving operations. This paving project will take about two months to complete. Pleasant Street Reconstruction Schedule Announced
May 14, 2018The project is scheduled to start May 14, 2018. The project consists of replacing the existing water main and drainage system. Upon completion of underground utility work, the roadway will be reconstructed and repaved, granite curbing reset, and brick sidewalks replaced.

Water Shut Down on Islington Street Thursday, April 26th
April 26, 2018On Thursday, April 26th, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., the Portsmouth Water Department will be shutting off the water main on Islington Street spanning the Route 1 Bypass to Essex Avenue, as well as Barberry Lane and Foch Avenue. The purpose of this shut down is to allow a crew from Lyman Construction to replace and relocate the hydrant at 1200 Islington Street.
