Snow Impacts

Please do not snow blow or shovel snow into the street. 

As of 9 am on Tuesday, January 27, the Parking Ban is ended. 

Regular parking rates resume at 11 am. Residents have until 11 am to move their cars from the garage and get the Snow Emergency Flat Rate. Please bring proof of residency and payment (cash or credit) to the attendant at the parking booth before retrieving your vehicle. 

The automated devices (pay in lane and pay-on-foot) are not equipped to vet residency and apply reduced rates. 

Crews are still working to clear streets and sidewalks.

Trash & Recycling Impacts

Monday, January 26, 2026: There will be no residential trash or recycling pickup; pickup will be the following Monday. Residents can bring their trash and recycling to the Recycling Center (680 Peverly Hill Road). See the Recycling Center page for hours of operation.

Downtown Business trash and recycling pickup is rescheduled to Tuesday, January 27 in the afternoon. 


City Trash Collection Policy: If the National Weather Service issues a Winter Weather Advisory (a forecast predicting accumulations of 3 to 5 inches of snow within the next 12 hours, or accumulating sleet, or freezing rain), there will be no trash collection on the following day.

Snow Emergency Parking Bans apply to the entire City (all streets within red outline) except for the Downtown Business Area (red-shaded area) at the time of declaration. When necessary, a Parking Ban in the Downtown Business Area is enforced from 1 am to 9 am.

Under a Declared Parking Ban, residents are encouraged to park in the green areas marked below or to take advantage of Flat Rate** Parking at Hanover Garage ($8 per exit) and Foundry Garage (also $8 per exit), good from the time an Advanced Warning is announced until 2 hours after the Ban Cancellation is issued.

**To receive the Flat Rate, Residents must bring proof of residency and payment (cash or credit) to the attendant at the parking booth before retrieving their vehicle.  Automated devices (pay in lane and pay-on-foot) are not equipped to vet residency and apply reduced rates.  Residents seeking the flat rate must see the cashier.  

If you car is parked on ANY CITY STREET within the defined parking ban times during a declared snow ban, your car will be towed. 

 

 

Snow Loadout Operations

When there is heavy snow accumulation Public Works crews will conduct snow load out in order to clear streets and sidewalks. These operations continue throughout the night into early the following morning. All vehicles must be removed from the posted downtown City streets prior to the times displayed per area on the map below.  This map indicates the planned routes crews will be addressing in phases throughout the evening. Residents are eligible to park in the City garages where flat parking fees apply ($8 Foundry, $8 Hanover), starting at 5:30 pm on the scheduled Load Out day until 10 am, which is 2 hours after the Loadout Parking Ban is scheduled to be lifted at 8 am.
