The Portsmouth Public Library and the Portsmouth Cemetery Committee are pleased to offer this searchable database of historic cemetery records. These records were created by volunteers and input by library staff, volunteers, and Cemetery Committee members. Many thanks for all the hard work of volunteers like Louise Tallman, Cynthia Pridham Thomas, June Spezzano, Ginny Jakoubek, Sue Sterry, Tylene Jousse, and Barbara Pamboukes!
The following cemeteries are represented in this database, though not every gravestone has been recorded: Cotton Cemetery, Elmwood Cemetery, Harmony Grove Cemetery, North Burial Ground, Pleasant Street Cemetery, Point of Graves Burial Ground, Proprietors Cemetery, Sagamore Cemetery, St. John’s Churchyard Cemetery, Union Cemetery, and the following family gravesites: Balch Burial Ground, Beck Burial Ground, Fieldstone Burial Ground, Hall Burial Ground, Huntress Cemetery, Lang Graveyard, Langdon Family Cemetery, Marden Graveyard, Marston Graveyard, Moses Graveyard, Norton Graveyard, Otis Cemetery, Perkins Graveyard, Rand Graveyard, Sherburne Graveyard, Whidden Graveyard, and White Graveside.
