Library Hours Change Starting Aug. 18th
Important: Portsmouth Public Library is changing its hours!
As of Monday, August 18, the library will be open at the following times:
Monday – Thursday
10 AM – 8 PM
Friday
10 AM – 5 PM
Saturday
10 AM – 5 PM
Sundays between Labor Day and Memorial Day
1 – 5 PM
Please note that the library has always been closed on Sundays through the summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day). These hours have not changed.
In recent years, the library has seen an increase in number of visitors and higher demand at our public desks. Minor changes to our hours and services this year will allow us to continue to provide the excellent customer service for which we’re known.
In making this decision, we have identified times with less traffic in the library to minimize the impact, and have surveyed the operating hours for other libraries around the state.
