Whodunnit?

Thanks to the aid of some plucky partygoers, Library Investigator Whimsy was able to apprehend the thief who stole the portrait of noted Portsmouth poet Celia Thaxter. Shockingly, it was none other than retired City Bureaucrat Fenton Alden! When questioned, Fenton had stated that it was "quite sad that the portrait of such a lauded patron of the library was stolen," and asked officers if they were aware of his own poetic prowess. As it happens, he actually committed the crime by waiting until the library was closed, slicing the painting out of the frame, and slipping out a back door.
