Surfrider Foundation

surfrider posterThe Surfrider Foundation NH chapter has partnered with local artist and ocean activist, Rebecca McGee Tuck, to present this informative, creative and eye-opening exhibit.

The Surfrider Foundation nationwide is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network. They fight for Plastic Reduction in marine environments, Ocean Protection, Beach Access for all, Coast and Climate issues, and Clean Water!  The network of chapter volunteers serves as the first response to local threats in coastal communities across the US. They are the boots on the ground who collaborate on both the local and national level with regional staff and issue experts to carry out our mission through campaign, program and educational initiatives in their local communities.

About the Artist
Rebecca McGee Tuck is a fiber artist, sculptor and a dedicated ocean activist. Her artwork serves as a visual narrative, transforming discarded materials from our throw-away society into environmentally aware works of art. Tuck's collaborative project, Sculpture Monster: Creature from the Plasticine Era was featured in Fiber Art Now Magazine in the Summer of 2024. Her work has been juried in exhibitions across the Northeast, and she has held artist residencies at the New Bedford Whaling National Historical National Park, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and the DNA Residency in Provincetown, MA. Her series, “Along the Wrack Line,” addresses the pressing issue of debris and plastic pollution on New England beaches, highlighting the environmental challenges faced by our coastal regions. You can follow her on Instagram @rebeccabombshellart.
