Online

Wednesdays July 15, 22 and 29
6:30 – 8 PM

What does it mean to be an ally? How can we help dismantle systemic, anti-black racism?

In this 3-part, online workshop with Anne Romney, we will look at racism in all its forms – internalized, interpersonal, institutional and systemic. Topics will include white privilege, understanding the toll of microaggressions, and what it means to be an ally/accomplice in the fight for social justice – with emphasis on concrete actions people can do, small and large.

Registration required – this workshop is limited to 10 participants. Your attendance is expected at all three sessions. After registering, you will receive an email with the Zoom link. Please register at cityofportsmouth.com/library/news/standinguptoracism.

Each Zoom session will be 90 minutes with some supplemental video watching and reading before the first session and in between. There will be ample time for discussion for the whole class and in smaller, break out groups.
