Volunteer Policies
At its meeting of January 6, 2025, the City Council adopted a Volunteer Training and Standards of Conduct and Ethics Policy No. 2025-01 and the Board, Commission, Committee Handbook for Volunteers (“Handbook”) to assist volunteers in their service to the community. The Handbook includes practical information on motion practice and public meeting law requirements and various policies to help guide your involvement.
Board, committee, and commission members appointed after the adoption of Policy 2025-01 will be required to review and acknowledge the Handbook and the associated policies prior to participating in a meeting. Two of the policies incorporated into the Handbook by reference are found in separate documents titled Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. The policies and Handbook will be distributed to board, committee and commission members through the City’s online policy distribution and tracking system (PowerDMS) following appointment.
