2026 Housing Action Plan [DRAFT]
The Housing Committee presented its recommendations for a Housing Action Plan to the City Council on July 13, 2026. The Council referred the matter to the Planning Board for further review. It is anticipated that the Planning Board will discuss the recommendations at its August 20, 2026 meeting.
Housing Blue Ribbon Committee
In 2024 the Mayor created a Housing Blue Ribbon Committee and the City Council voted to approve the initial members at its February 20, 2024 meeting.

Housing Initiatives
The City of Portsmouth engaged Portsmouth Listens in the Winter of 2023 to facilitate a series of community participation events called Places to Live Study Circle Dialogue. This effort was to inform and listen to the community about housing concerns. Outcomes of the initiative are located in the link below:
