ParkMobile App & Resident Discount

ParkMobile, Inc. provides residents and visitors the most convenient way to pay for parking through its mobile smartphone application.  ParkMobile is the #1 provider of mobile payment solutions in the Parking Industry, providing service in over 350 cities, with 10,000,000 spaces in inventory. The City of Portsmouth launched this convenient payment alternative on February 15, 2019, and it is now the City's #1 source of meter payments, 77% of total collections.

How it works

Interested users download the free ParkMobile application from their device’s app store.  Follow the prompts to load in contact information, vehicle and plate identification and a credit card to associate with using the app to pay for parking.  Pay special attention to ensure your plate number(s) are entered correctly.

Once parked in a ParkMobile area, look for a Zone Number on the signage posted on the meter or open the app and locate the Zone Number near your blue dot in the App's map.  Next, enter the Zone Number and select the time you want to park and start the session.  Pay special attention to ensure you have chosen the vehicle (in the app) that you are actually driving (and parking).

To apply for this program, just complete the Resident Parking Discount Application at the City Tax Collector's office when you register your motor vehicle. Applicants completing the Resident Parking Discount Form must be listed on the registration of the vehicles to be included in the program.

If you are renewing a motor vehicle registration by mail, please include the Resident Parking Discount Application when returning registration documents. 

If you are renewing a motor vehicle registration online or signing up for the program after registering your motor vehicle, please visit the Tax Collector's Office in person and complete the Resident Parking Discount Application. In these cases, the applicant will need to provide the following documentation along with the application:

• A valid New Hampshire driver’s license with a Portsmouth address
• A current vehicle registration with a matching Portsmouth address for each vehicle

In the event you are unable to provide one of the above, please provide one of the following in conjunction with one of the above:

• A current (within 30 days) paystub with a matching address
• A current utility bill with a matching name and Portsmouth address; or
• A current, fully executed, notarized rental agreement showing the applicant's name and a matching address

Proof of Residency Renewals

• Your discount will expire on the same date as the motor vehicle registration for each related vehicle.  You will need to fill out the form annually when renewing your motor vehicle registration.
