Careers in Education (CIE)

Ed Rising Logo

The Little Clipper Preschool is affiliated with the Careers in Education program. We serve up to 18 preschool students per year, ages 28 months (potty trained) to five years.

The CIE program's main purpose is to educate high school students who are interested in exploring a career in education. They are allowed to experience the preschool classroom under the direct supervision of the CIE teacher and Preschool Teacher through observations, creating lesson plans, and direct interaction with the preschool students.

About the CIE Program

The Careers in Education program is designed to provide students considering a career as a teacher or in any occupational area that focuses on children and/or adolescents, with the knowledge, attitude, behaviors and skills required to be effective in a school setting or the wider community. The program offers practical experience at the Little Clipper Preschool in which classroom instruction is applied in a real situation. The program also offers students completing the two-year sequence of study an opportunity to explore various levels of teaching through internships as well as Infant/Child CPR certification and Mental Health First Aid.

Students have the opportunity to earn 18 college credits through GBCC.

Students of this program have a membership in Educators Rising, which is an integrated component of the CIE program. $45.00 membership fee.
