Jewelry Theft

PORTSMOUTH, NH – The Portsmouth Police Department is actively investigating a jewelry theft that occurred at Kay Jewelers, located at 1600 Woodbury Avenue.

On September 22, 2026, at approximately 3:00 PM, a male suspect entered the store under the pretense of looking at merchandise. While items were displayed for a potential sale, the suspect grabbed two diamond rings and two necklaces before fleeing the store on foot. The total value of the stolen jewelry is currently being withheld.

Investigators believe this individual may also be linked to a similar jewelry theft in Massachusetts. The Portsmouth Police Department is actively collaborating with regional and state law enforcement agencies to determine if the suspect is connected to other offenses.

Public Assistance Requested
Police are seeking the public’s help to identify the male in the attached surveillance photo. Detectives are also looking for anyone who may have witnessed the suspect entering a vehicle, or who saw him inquiring about merchandise in other area stores.
