NH Dept of Health and Human Services Makes No Change in Vaccine Recommendations

Although the US Department of Health has changed its vaccine recommendations for children, Iain Watt, director of the public health division at the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NHDHHS) announced on January 7, 2026 that the state is not changing its recommendations for childhood vaccines.
Commercial insurance will still cover the immunizations, and they will also be available through the federal Vaccines for Children program. The state’s Executive Council on January 7 approved purchasing $7.3 million in vaccines (380,000 doses) though the program which offers a 30 percent discount off the market price.
New Hampshire follows immunization recommendations established by national medical organizations including these American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Family Physicians guidelines.
