PPD Memorial Day Cemetery Ceremonies

May 26, 2025

6:00 PM  -  7:00 PM

Calvary Cemetery & South Street Cemetery

PPD retirees and members of the public are welcome to join the police department for two very special Memorial events on Monday, May 26th, as they honor the memory and legacy of their fallen officers.

Beginning at 6:00PM, the Portsmouth Police Honor Guard will visit Calvary Cemetery, followed by a visit to South Street Cemetery at 6:30PM. At each location, Chaplain Jeff Pelkey will read the names of all deceased PPD officers. The Honor Guard will render a solemn rifle salute in tribute of their service.

This year, the department will be adding the name of (Ret.) Auxiliary Lt. David Succi to the roll of honor. His name joins a proud list of those who dedicated their lives to protecting and serving.

A special thank you to Sgt. Brian Houde for continuing the long-standing tradition of placing a flag at the gravesite of PPD officers- not only in Portsmouth but throughout the Seacoast region as well.

Let us come together to remember those who served with honor and to continue the traditions that keep their legacy alive.

See you there!
