The Portsmouth Police Department depends on a range of technology systems to support our dispatch and records management infrastructure. This includes computers in the station and patrol cars, servers, and secure connections to state police networks, along with essential equipment like printers and scanners.
Our IT Unit manages and maintains these systems, including specialized software used by law enforcement. They also oversee a fully equipped backup Dispatch Center to ensure emergency services continue without interruption if the main center goes offline.

Our cruiser laptops run on a secure wireless network, giving officers instant access to motor vehicle records and criminal history information while in the field. This mobile setup acts as a patrol officer's office on the go, allowing them to complete reports without returning to the station - helping them stay visible and engaged in the community.
